Water color and Wax Resist(crayon)

Today was my last day teaching Mrs. Keele's class. It was sad to say goodbye but we had an exciting last day. The students had lots to work on. Some needed to finish their collages and the rest started a new project.
I give the students information on how to make art and give them ideas as to what they can do but I like to give the students lots of freedom as to what subject matter they use in art and how they want to make their art.  This encourages the students to use their creativity.
We talked  about perspective today. What it is and how artist portray it in their art. We also learned about water color. The students made winter watercolors with white crayon resist. All of them were so different and great. Almost all of the self portrait collages are finished as well so we took a class photo together.
Thanks Mrs. Keele and Mrs. Keele's super cool third graders! It was tons of fun.

  1. The watercolor resist project was so much fun. The students enjoyed creating a "mystery" picture with the white crayon and then see it come to life when they added the water colors. The finished collages are also amazing. We were so fortunate to have Ms. Stewart come to our class.
